Three Billboards Outside Ebbing plot, what the film is about an unsolved murder in Missouri

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri tells of the crusade undertaken by a Missouri resident against the local police, guilty, in her view, of the inability to solve a murder case: the one that saw her daughter as the victim.

Mildred Hayes’ efforts begin with the three headline manifestos. These are as many billboards in sequence, rented by Mildred and filled with the sentence, broken into three parts: “Raped while she was dying”, “And still no arrest”, “Why, Sheriff Willoughby?”
