Elodie Yung in Daredevil and The Defenders
Élodie Yung rose to international fame thanks to her character Elektra in the Netflix series Marvel’s Daredevil alongside Charlie Cox. She will take over this badass role in the spin-off The Defenders. Although these series are original Netflix productions, they will soon be found in the Disney catalog with all the other Marvel works.
César Domboy in Outlander
In the Outlander series, the French actor César Domboy rose to prominence. He plays Fergus Claudel Fraser, a French emigrant settled in the American colonies. Jamie takes him under his wing and makes him an employee. But he will very quickly become a father figure for him and will even give him his last name. In seasons 2 and 3, Fergus Fraser is played as a child by Romann Berrux and since season 3, it is César Domboy who embodies his adult version.
Tomer Sisley in Messiah
Tomer Sisley played an Israeli intelligence officer investigating a man who seems to be performing miracles in the Middle East in Messiah. The charismatic Al-Masih divides opinion and the character of Tomer Sisley will seek to disentangle the true from the false. The series caused controversy in the country where it was shot, Jordan, and was banned from broadcasting for fear of “undermining the sanctity of religion”. Messiah didn’t get a season 2.
Sami Outalbali in Sex Education
The one who was revealed in the series Les Grands joined another series for teens – British this time – Sex Education in season 2 alongside the Franco-British Emma Mackey. In Sex Education, Sami Outalbali plays Rahim, a thoughtful student who turns heads at Moordale High School and had an affair with Eric (Ncuti Gatwa) before the latter eventually bonded with Adam.
Marie-Christine Adam in Inventing Anna
Known for her roles in Under the Sun, Plus belle la vie or Les Trois frères des Inconnus, Marie-Christine Adam was invited to the series Inventing Anna by Shonda Rhimes. The actress, who has already appeared in other international films, plays the guide to the Majorelle Gardens, dear to Yves Saint Laurent, in Marrakech, who faces the con artist Anna Delvey (Julia Garner). Another Frenchman appears in this episode, it is Assad Bouab (Dix Pour Cent), also appeared in another international series below.
Sandor Funtek in Russian Doll
Revealed in La vie d’Adèle, Sandor Funtek impressed last year with his interpretation of Kool Shen in Suprêmes. In the meantime, the actor distinguished himself in season 2 of Russian Doll alongside Natasha Lyonne. He embodies Lenny, who becomes romantically close to Agnès and tries to escape to West Berlin. It’s unclear if Lenny will be back for a potential Season 3.
Adam Nourou in Elite
He is a talent to follow since his role in the Hispano-Beninese feature film Adù. Since then, Adam Nourou has distinguished himself in season 5 of the sulphurous Spanish series Elite. He plays Bilal, a young immigrant student who will get closer to Omar (Omar Ayuso), recently separated from Ander.
Louvia Bachelor in lite
Known for her character Manon in the daily soap opera Tomorrow belongs to us on TF1, Louvia Bachelier appeared in season 5 of Élite, more particularly in the first episode. She plays Elodie, a former French girlfriend of Phillipe (Pol Granch) who claims to have been sexually assaulted by him in a video. We don’t see her again this season, but Phillipe’s past could well resurface, and Elodie with it, in season 6 of the Spanish series.
Jean Reno in Who Killed Sara?
In Season 3 of the Mexican series Who Killed Sara?, Jean Reno plays the main antagonist: Reinaldo Gomez de la Cortina, a doctor specializing in mental disorders. We learn that it was he who was behind all the dirty tricks and manipulations since he trapped Sara and her entourage. He is responsible for Sara’s accident and her internment. The young woman, suffering from hereditary schizophrenia, was used by the character of Jean Reno for the purpose of illegal research.
Assaad Bouab in Peaky Blinders
Already appeared in Messiah and Inventing Anna, Assaad Bouab (Dix Pour Cent) makes an appearance in the first episode of season 6 of Peaky Blinders. He plays Henri, a bartender at a tavern in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, where Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) has set up a trap date with Michael, who wants revenge on him for Polly’s death.
Gregory Fitoussi in Peaky Blinders
After the success of Engrenages outside France, Grégory Fitoussi took part in numerous British series, including Mr Selfridge and Beecham House. This year, he appears alongside Assaad Bouab in the first episode of the final season of Peaky Blinders. He plays one of the customers of the bar in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon who will engage in a fight with Tommy Shelby from which he will emerge as the loser.
Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu in The Crown
Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, known around the world for her brilliant role as Sylvie in Emily in Paris, will soon be appearing in season 5 of The Crown. The actress will play Monique Ritz, the widow of Charles Ritz. The latter had sold the eponymous luxury hotel to the Egyptian businessman Mohamed Al Fayed, namely the father of Dodi Al-Fayed, who was the companion of Lady Di with whom she will tragically disappear in the accident under the Alma bridge in 1997.
