There are at least 16 original films that will land on Netflix during 2023, with a video the streaming platform announced a series of proposals able to satisfy all tastes. They range from romantic comedy “From me or from you” with Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher and “A family affair” with Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron to thrillers “Leave the world behind” with Julia Roberts and Mahershala Ali and “The mother” with Jennifer Lopez in the role of a murderess. Again, films for the whole family, with the animated film “Leo” (chameleon voiced by Adam Sandler in the original version) to adventure fantasy “Damsel” with Millie Bobby Brown and Angela Bassett. There is no shortage of great comebacks, such as “Murder Mystery 2” (with Adam Sandler again with Jennifer Aniston), “TylerRake 2” with Chris Hemsworth and Idris Elba in “Luther: To hell“.

“You People” on Netflix from January 27th

In this comedy written by Jonah Hill and Kenya Barris, two lovers who have just gotten together face their parents’ conflicting opinions about their relationship and discover that opposites attract, but some families don’t. The cast includes Jonah Hill, Lauren London, David Duchovny and Nia Long, with Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Eddie Murphy.

From me or from you” – on Netflix from February 10

Best friends Debbie (Reese Witherspoon) and Peter (Ashton Kutcher) swap homes for a week and discover that what they think they want may not be what they really need.

Luther: To hell – on Netflix from March 10

From the TV series, continues the story of disgraced brilliant detective John Luther (Idris Elba) behind bars, while a vicious killer terrorizes. Haunted by his failure to catch the cyber psychopath now stalking him, he decides to break out of prison to get the job done by any means necessary.

Murder Mystery 2” – on Netflix from March 31st

Nick (Adam Sandler) and Audrey Spitz (Jennifer Aniston) are now private detectives with their own detective agency and find themselves at the center of an international investigation when a friend is kidnapped.

The Mother” – on Netflix from May 12

Jennifer Lopez plays an assassin who decides to come out of hiding to find and protect the daughter she initially gave up for safety. The cast also includes Joseph Fiennes, Omari Hardwick, Gael García Bernal, Paul Raci and Lucy Paez.

Tyler Rake (Extraction 2)” – on Netflix June 16

After barely surviving the events of the first film, undercover Australian mercenary Rake (Chris Hemsworth) is charged with another lethal mission: to rescue the abused family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held.

They cloned Tyrone” – on Netflix from July 21

Though Fontaine (John Boyega), Yo-Yo (Teyonah Parris) and Slick Charles (Jamie Foxx) can’t stand each other, they team up to uncover a terrible government conspiracy involving the clones.

Heart of stone” – on Netflix from August 11

The spy thriller starring Gal Gadot, Jamie Dornan and Alia Bhatt is directed by Tom Harper from a screenplay by Greg Rucka and Allison Schroeder. Among the locations where it was filmed there is also Italy.

Lift” – on Netflix from August 25th

An international gang of robbers is recruited to prevent a terrorist attack and must pull off a plane in flight.

Damsel” – on Netflix from October 13

Millie Bobby Brown plays a young bridesmaid who is convinced that she is marrying a handsome prince, but discovers that the whole arrangement is not what it seems: the royal family plans to sacrifice her to a dragon, she finds herself trapped in a cave and forced to use her wits to get out alive.

Pain Hustlers” – on Netflix from October 27

After losing her job, a factory worker joins a failing pharmaceutical start-up in order to support her daughter, but finds herself embroiled in dangerous illegal activities. With Emily Blunt, Chris Evans, Catherine O’Hara and Andy García.

The Killer” – on Netflix from November 10

David Fincher directs a noir about a professional killer in a world that has lost its moral compass, starring Michael Fassbender and Tilda Swinton.

A family affair” – on Netflix from November 17

Musical romantic comedy starring Nicole Kidman, Zac Efron and Joey King.

Leo” – on Netflix from November 22

After a long life as a classroom pet, all 74-year-old lizard Leo (Adam Sandler) wants is some time out of his terrarium and away from his turtle roommate (Bill Burr). But when Leo finally pulls off his escape plan, he’s immediately drawn into the chaotic lives of the school kids who have loved him for years.

Leave the world behind” – on Netflix from December 8

The film follows the story of two families vacationing on Long Island whose fun is interrupted by a huge and sudden blackout that seems to have left much of the island without electricity. Two mysterious figures appear to explain what is really behind the blackout. With Julia Roberts and Mahershala Ali, Ethan Hawke, Kevin Bacon.

Rebel Moon” – on Netflix from December 22

The peaceful life of those living in the colonies on the edge of the galaxy is threatened by the arrival of the destructive armies of the tyrannical regent Balisarius. A young woman named Kora steps forward to build her own army to defend herself.
