Jose Maria Coronado Garcia is a Spanish film and television actor, winner of the Goya Award, and his most recent appearance on TV has been in the successful Netflix series, entrevías. On the other hand is David Solans Cortesa Spanish film and television actor, mainly known for his role as Bruno Bergeron in the television series Merli. Both, in 2013 characterized the central characters of son of cain (Fill of Cain)an impressive Spanish film with a plot that will never go unnoticed.
The film tells the story of Nico Albert, a teenager with a very peculiar character, exceptional intelligence and a single obsession: chess. Nico’s parents, worried about their son’s anomalous attitude, hire a child psychologist named Julio Beltrán, with whom they hope that through therapy and their common love of chess, he will enter the disturbing world of the boy, with the in order to improve the complex relationships of this apparently normal family.
The development of the story shows that little by little the psychologist will begin to realize that the family is not entirely “normal”, as they appeared at first, in addition to the fact that he begins to have quite complex relationships with each of them. So, he will have to hurry to find the truth because, in case he doesn’t, he won’t be able to stop evil from completely dominating their lives.
son of cain is a psychological thriller that marked the directorial debut of Jesús Monllaó Plana (The legacy). This feature film is responsible for adapting the novel written by Ignacio García-Valiño entitled Dear Cain, and when it hit theaters internationally, it managed to draw a lot of attention from viewers for its captivating story. In addition, it was a film project that was acclaimed and nominated for the Gaudí Awards, including Best Film.
In an interview, Monllaó revealed about the film that his intention as director was to investigate the limits of human perversity, understood as cold and calculated premeditation of morally unjustifiable acts with the sole objective of achieving what is desired.
Per se, son of cain manages to perfectly embody the personality of a psychopathic and obsessive human being. This is a film that will catch you from the first moment; plus it will allow you to delve into the darkest human issues.
