With the help of Netflix, it’s easy to curl up on the couch to watch a horror movie as they have a large catalog. This list has something for everyone. Indeed, there is something for absolutely every taste. In this list available below, there are films for those who like a bit of mystery, but also those who love to jump up.
Get ready for a spooky night with your friends, popcorn and your favorite Halloween candies with our top 10. Let’s go!
1. The Conjuring 2
Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren attempt to evict an evil force from the home of a North London family in this 2016 sequel.
2. The Babysitter
While trying to spy on his babysitter one night, a young boy discovers that she’s just a psychopath and that she’s after him. The film will not make you have big cold sweats. However, the concept is fun and is perfect for a couple.
3. Sinister II
It is the story of a young mother and her twin sons who move into a rural house doomed for destruction. Scary, there are no other words…
4. The Forest
With one of the Game of Thrones actresses. Over the course of the film, Natalie Dormer plays the role of a woman who travels to the Suicide Forest in Japan to find her twin sister and has to deal with supernatural forces. Incredibly creepy, trust me!
5. Eli
Produced by Netflix. This production is not for the faint-hearted. It’s the truth. It’s the story of an 11-year-old boy who checks into a clinic (or is it a haunted house?) to receive an experimental treatment. Unfortunately, things don’t go as planned…
6. Don’t Breathe
Don’t Breath is a low-budget movie at first, but it was wildly successful in the United States. Three burglars try to steal money from an elderly blind man who lives in a decrepit house in Detroit. What the thugs don’t know is that the old man is a relentless veteran who will give them no respite, making this heist a breathtaking thriller.
7. Mom
A fairy tale, but in horror mode. Yes yes ! It exists. Guillermo Del Toro, the master of Hollywood fantasy, scouted and produced the first film by Spanish director Andrés Muschietti. Based on a short film by the director, this film tells the story of two young girls who disappeared deep in the woods after the death of their parents. Wild, they are protected by a mysterious spirit they call “Mama”.
In this horror story, you will jump repeatedly…
8.Hostel
Ultra gore, if you’re the sensitive type, I don’t recommend it.
9. That
We will see the monster attack seven teenagers in the first part, then adults in the second part (available on Netflix if you put the catalog in English). Like Spielberg’s films of the 1980s, The Club of 5 is an ensemble film. To see for its originality and some scary moments!
10. The Visit
Doesn’t look like much, but it’s a pretty crazy horror movie that scared me on several occasions. Director M Night Shyamalan, who had his golden age with Sixth Sense, returns with The Visit, a film that takes the form of found footage. A child accompanied by his sister spends a vacation with their grandparents from the camera’s point of view. Only downside: the elderly couple behaves more and more strangely.
Beyond its pervasive humor, this film’s strength lies in its ability to instill fear through small details of everyday life, creating unease in otherwise normal situations.
List completed. It only remains for me to wish you a happy Halloween!
