It’s a bit like…

prison break, mindhunter

black birdit’s like a little mix between Prison Break and mindhunter. If Jimmy Keene isn’t looking to break out of prison like Michael Scofield, he’s given an equally dangerous mission that can also get him back to freedom. Both must then navigate the troubled waters of the prison system and do everything to survive in this hostile environment. Finally, Larry Hall can bring to mind the dangerous psychopaths interviewed by Bill Tench and Holden Ford in Mindhunter, with an entry into their way of thinking and an analysis of their psyche. All for a thriller as thrilling as it is psychological.

It may be hard to believe but the plot of black bird is indeed inspired by real events. It is a free adaptation of the autobiography of James Keene (the character of Taron Egerton), In With The Devil: A Fallen Hero, A Serial Killer, and A Dangerous Bargain for Redemption. In fact, several characters in the miniseries therefore really existed. Like Larry Hall who is suspected of having killed up to 45 women in the 80s. If Dennis Lehane’s show takes some liberties with the story, it remains nonetheless true and gives it a dimension of as much more exciting.
