He’s gained a legion of adoring fans after packing on 9 kilograms with six grueling workouts a week to play the ultra-buff superhero Thor.
But Chris Hemsworth revealed a trimmer physique than his Avengers admirers are used to – for his latest role in the thriller Bad Times At The El Royale.
The 34-year-old seemed to show off a slimmer waist as he appeared shirtless in the trailer for the blood-pumping 1969-set flick.

Chris stars alongside Jeff Bridges, Dakota Fanning and Jon Hamm in the film, which was written and directed by Drew Goddard, who wrote the screenplay for The Martian and World War Z.
The thriller, which is set for an Australian release on October 18, follows seven strangers converging at a rundown Lake Tahoe hotel and facing their old demons.
Chris, who reportedly plays the head of a cult in the film, looks worlds away from his ultra-buff days as an Avengers superhero.

For the first Thor film, Chris built up his muscles by hitting the gym with a former Navy SEAL and gained 9 kilograms in total.
‘I was eating excessive amounts of meat when I first did this, to be honest. Luckily I don’t need as much to achieve the same results now,’ he told Men’s Health last year.
Having first starred as the god back in 2011 however, the actor admitted to the magazine that filming this time round had taken more of a toll on his body – despite his impressively strong frame.
He said: ‘What you notice as time passes is that your joints and other bits take a beating. You start to go, ”Ah, that never used to hurt when I lifted that!”
However he did admit that his formerly intense training for the films gave him an advantage in getting fit for a third time round, adding: ‘But the muscle memory is a huge plus.’

To prepare for Thor: Ragnarok, which was released last year, Chris did an hour of weightlifting six days a week.
As well as having his own stand-alone films, Chris also stars as Thor in the Avengers series, which he is currently working on until July 2018.
With the entire cast playing superheroes and requiring high levels of fitness, the father-of-three revealed he enjoyed working out with his co-stars during their stints of filming – most notably, Robert Downey Jr.
Chris explained that the Iron Man actor, 52, has a completely different training regimen to him, but that the pair still try and train together – with Robert even getting him into yoga.
