“Super fun, super exciting, super spectacular.” With these three characteristics so typical of cult cinema, it was presented on its poster Supersonic Man (Juan Piquer, 1979), the film that has the dubious horror honor of officially opening the 12th edition of CutreCon this Wednesday, January 25. A starting signal to start the great festival of the lowest films in style, which will last until Sunday 29 in various venues in Madrid.

Supersonic Man
A superhero with powers similar to Superman but a somewhat more modest suit comes to Earth to fight evil. Only his superpowers, which include flight, bulletproof skin, and the ability to turn guns into bananas, can save humanity. Directed by the artisan fan of the genre Juan Piquer (JP Simon to friends when he wanted to hide his Iberian origin), its imaginative and handmade effects, in addition to the catchy tacky music and exaggerated performances (with Cameron Mitchell, a regular at CutreCon) they have converted Supersonic Man in a referent of good bad cinema. The film will be screened for the first time in cinema in its remastered version in high definition.

With the night and wild revelry as an accomplice, Tuno Negro commits his crimes with a simple guideline: those who are the worst students in each class will die. The last one will not pass the course, nor will he have the option of repeating… The session will be attended by co-director Pedro Barbero, who signed the film together with Vicente J. Martín.

Batman. The movie
After the resounding success of the first season of the series that adapted the legendary DC Comics character for television, it was decided to make this film in a hurry and release it before the second batch of episodes. The plot is not important: the important thing is to maintain the almost parodic tone and turn it into a comedy with Robin’s impossible phrases, hilarious riddles and absurd Batman gadgets like, of course, the famous shark repellent, from a scene that is already most shameless movie history. Pure innocent enjoyment, with an Adam West who managed to strike the perfect balance between a mythical figure and a camp actor.
