Paris, Jan 18 (EFE) and opened his parade with one of the protagonists of the series “Emily in Paris”.

Lucas Bravo, best known for giving life to the character of Gabriel in the Netflix series starring Lily Collins, was in charge of opening the show for LGN Louis Gabriel Nouchi, a French brand founded by the homonymous designer.

Dressed in a long double-breasted coat, shirt, tie and, above all, his hair combed back and his face splattered with blood, the 34-year-old French actor took to the catwalk highlighting his career as a model, his main activity until “Emily in Paris” propelled him to fame.

According to what Nouchi told EFE, the creator was inspired for this collection by the novel by Bret Easton Ellis, which, later, was brought to the big screen with Christian Bale in the lead role.

Presented within the framework of Men’s Fashion Week, the brand’s fall-winter 2023 line featured leather pants, draped shirts, long coats with marked shoulders and double-breasted double-breasted jackets.

But beyond the basic wardrobe, the garments stood out due to the cinematographic twist that the designer gave them, inspired by the novel: latex gloves, transparent leather pants (thanks to an innovative process of dyeing the skin), torn dresses to the thigh-high and towering over-the-knee boots.

The cast of models drew attention, many of them with their faces painted in blood, including men of all ages, sizes and origins, including anonymous clients of the brand, according to Nouchi.

“I like to show the same silhouette on different bodies to show the versatility from the beginning.

For me, dressing well is a way of expressing a desire or a need”, commented the designer behind the scenes, while ironizing the “look” of the novel’s own protagonist, a Wall Street ‘dandy’, cocaine addict and psychopath.

The designer, who usually draws from novels for his creations, turned the book’s themes into garments: “We have aggressively treated the openings, the same as the draping of dresses and T-shirts, thinking about the way in which he wrapped his victims “, exemplified the creator.

Another of the designers who presented their proposals this Wednesday at the apsarela was the Belgian Walter Van Beirendonck, belonging to the well-known group of Flemish designers “The Antwerp Six”.

Although novel criticism was not the starting point for his collection, it could have been by seeing his proposals.

Leather and a plastic fabric served as the basis for the line, where wide pants stood out under fitted straight jackets.

The garments were decorated with rubber balls on the arms and head, while the models had their heads wrapped in a net mesh.

Black and red were the main colors on the catwalk for the Belgian, willing to be carried away by a punk, street style and with a point of university student. EFE
