Patrick Ferrarione of the three prosecutors in charge of the accusation against Nicholas Pachelo for the crime of Maria Marta Garcia Belsunce, filed a strong complaint this Wednesday at the beginning of hearing number 15 of the trial to clarify the case, which is taking place in the courts of San Isidro, because the defendant became a “youtuber and influencer” by creating Instagram, YouTube and Twitter accounts to give their version of the events.
As reported Infobae, Pachelo generated his public Instagram account – he already has a private one – from the La Plata prison where he has been housed since last February. His first post was a photo of himself with two words in all caps, which read: “I’M INNOCENT”. In his stories he later warned: “I am going to share chronologically -my truth-. The other version that no one heard until now.” Then, he uploaded a 9:27-minute video on his YouTube account with the title “My timeline of events” to detail the course of the first investigation of the crime of María Marta.
“We view with concern the management and mismanagement of Pachelo, which is nothing more than the need for control, dominance and triumph, as stated by Dr. Chicato, of a psychopath”, Ferrari shot this Wednesday before the first witness of the day entered.
Ferrari’s anger, which is also shared by his colleagues Andrew Quintana Y Federico Gonzalez lies in the fact that the accused cannot use social networks from prison -something provided for by the regulations of the Buenos Aires Penitentiary Service, which only allows detainees to use WhatsApp- and because, in addition, in his posts and in the notes he gave to the press “There is a systematic conditioning of Pachelo for the people who can testify in the hearing”.
“The surprise was that became a youtuber, influencer… He began to provide versions of the events. From the presidency of the court he was warned that what he has to say, say it here”, Ferrari reproached the accused.
The complaint of the Public Prosecutor’s Office is because in its posts “it introduces a canceled hypothesis”, because they considered that “He started acting like a troll.” when answering the comments and they maintained that “they have nothing else to do but condition the witnesses.” And they added: “The witnesses are afraid and he does nothing but condition them.”
Ferrari introduced that, according to the rules of the Buenos Aires Penitentiary Service, the use of cell phones for people deprived of their liberty is for calls and WhatsApp: “Article No. 7 on internet access says that the use of social networks is prohibited, with the exception of WhatsApp.”
Before deliberating on the subject, the president of the Oral Criminal Court No. 4 of San Isidro, Federico Ecke, said: “The only way that Pachelo has to speak is through a statement, in the terms imposed by the court, sitting there.”
